ATUL Centrifugal
Screens have special characteristics because of
the special way they are made. Screens are electroplated
using a sophisticated electroforming process.
This process makes possible a slot shape i.e.
narrow at the working surface to reduce blinding
or clogging. Slot arrangements for centrifugal
screens are specified in two part i.e. mesh no.
40/10, 33/8. The first number (before the slash)
is the number of slots per inch perpendicular
to the molasses flow and crystal travel. The second
number (after the slash) is the number of slots
per inch parallel to molasses flow and crystal
travel.
Nickel microscreens
are made of 99.99% purity Nickel having hard chromium
plating of 10-12 micron on working face. These
screens are used for continuous centrifugal machines
for separation of crystal from massecuites.
